Students received a bachelor's, master's or doctoral degree from Samford University.

Samford University releases dean's lists after the close of the fall and spring semesters each academic year. To qualify for the dean's list, a student must have earned a minimum 3.5 grade point average out of a possible 4.0 while attempting at least 12 credit hours of coursework. Dean's List is the highest academic recognition given by the school at the end of each semester.

Samford University's Orlean Beeson School of Education held its annual award ceremony May 4 to recognize the many accomplishments of the school's undergraduate teacher education students. Twelve scholarships totaling more than $35,000 were awarded to students pursuing a career in teacher education.

More than 300 students were honored at the J. Mack Robinson College of Business Honors Day at Georgia State University, held March 30, 2017.

This honor society promotes and recognizes the significant scholarship, leadership, and contributions to the allied health professions. Baccalaureate degree candidates who have maintained an overall GPA of 3.5 or better are eligible for induction. The Alpha Eta motto is "Together We Serve" to represent all of the allied health professions. Georgia State University became a founding member of the Alpha Eta in March 1975.

The Undergraduate Research & Creative Activity Conference, held March 30, is a premier annual event at The University of Alabama that provides students with the opportunity to highlight their research or creative activity. In addition to bringing attention to the outstanding work being done by UA's undergraduates, the conference allows students to gain experience presenting, become eligible for cash prizes, and form relationships with faculty mentors and fellow conference presenters. The best of Concordia University, Nebraska students' artwork, as judged by Concordia's full-time art faculty, are on display at the Marxhausen Gallery of Art through May 3, 2017. The exhibit is free and open to the public.

Kennesaw State University congratulates the nearly 6,000 students who were named to the Fall 2016 Dean's List. Students named to the Dean's List were enrolled in at least 9 credit hours of courses and earned a grade point average of at least 3.5.

Kennesaw State University recently named students to the President's List, in recognition of their academic excellence in the Fall 2016 semester. The Kennesaw State students were honored by President Samuel S. Olens for earning top marks.

Concordia University, Nebraska, presented "The Women of Lockerbie," Feb. 24 and 25 at 7:30 p.m. and Feb. 26 at 2 p.m. The performance, a primarily student-directed and designed show, was held in the Studio Theater of the Music Center on Concordia's campus.

Samford University has selected 20 students to participate in the 2017 London Core Texts Summer Course, a two-week travel and study abroad experience for select rising sophomores.

To be eligible for the Dean's List, students must earn a 3.50 GPA for the semester and complete at least nine semester hours of academic credit with no incompletes.

Hundreds of students at Georgia State University's Perimeter College earned associate's degrees in December 2016.

A total of 11,758 students enrolled during the 2016 fall semester at The University of Alabama were named to the Dean's List with an academic record of 3.5 (or above) or the President's List with an academic record of 4.0 (all A's). The UA Dean's and President's lists recognize full-time undergraduate students. The lists do not apply to graduate students or undergraduate students who take less than a full course load.

The 25th annual Georgia Southern Fall 2016 Commencement Ceremony represented a momentous day as approximately 1,700 of Georgia's best and brightest undergraduate and graduate students received degrees from the University's eight colleges. Approximately 400 graduate degrees were conferred, while around 1,300 undergraduate students received degrees.
